Our Story

From 1947 to 1972, LuPaul Industries was strictly tool and die, specializing in the design and build of progressive, form and blank tooling.  It was in 1972, at the urging of several of its tooling customers that LuPaul decided to open Mercury Stamping in Jackson, Michigan.

For the next sixteen years these two divisions worked together to support each other in servicing their customer base.  In 1988 the third LuPaul division, FM Huebner was established.  This division was, and is, strictly a Ford Motors Company supplier, specializing in the manufacturing of water pump impellers and exhaust components.  These three divisions operate in Jackson, Michigan.

1992 marked the beginning of the LuPaul Industries move southward to Loudon, Tennessee at the urging of LuPaul’s largest southern customer.  Opening our fourth and fifth divisions, MSI Products and Loudon Tool and Die provides the opportunity to better serve our current customer base. This move south is concentrated heavily in JIT service, in returnable containers, with deliveries to point of use.

In order to take advantage of the knowledge acquired since 1947, and at the same time experience continuous improvement, MSI Products wanted to add something new to the existing LuPaul product line.  Once again, LuPaul was customer driven to add CNC wire benders to their present equipment list.

In adding this additional service, MSI Products has been able to make themselves flexible, as well as add in excess of 400 new part numbers to its current vast parts catalog.  The use of this type of equipment, with no tooling required, fit well with delivering small JIT lots to the customer’s point-of-use.

The southern market also opened the need for large capacity presses.  Due to the fact that there were very few large stamping houses in the area, MSI Products proceeded to add several 200-ton presses, a 600-ton press, and a 300-ton press; all of which are automatic with varying bed sizes.  This coupled with the divisions in Michigan made LuPaul a nationwide stamping/tool and die organization with the ability to not only service the United States, but Canada and Mexico as well.

With the companies roots and corporate offices located in Jackson, Michigan, a majority of the customers’ services by LuPaul Industries and all of its divisions, have been heavily involved in the automotive industry.  However, through the years, the customer base has grown to include such industries as railroad, conveyor, lawn/farm equipment, security locks, furniture and lumber.

Obviously over the past fifty years, LuPaul Industries and its divisions, a family owned and operated company has had to weather many business storms and at the same time makes sound business decisions.  The business philosophy of working to meet its customers needs is what created and sustained all of LuPaul’s divisions throughout the years.

The willingness to change and the desire to continuously improve by all LuPaul employees is what has made this company successful over the past fifty years and will continue to; well into the next century.

The strength of our position in the industry is a result of our people.  Our technical staff represents more than 150 years of experience in stamping and tooling design and construction.

With our CAD/CAM & DNC/CNC machining capability, we can participate in the developmental stages of a stamped part by machining of the prototypes.  With our CNC machine capacity, we can further participate in the pre-production pilot runs as well as OEM production for jobs that will fit our capacity.  With our conventional machining capability, we participate in higher volume production for our OEM market.
